Duda Melzer Grows The Family Corporation Through Innovation

Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer, also known as Duda Melzer, is the current president and chairman of RBS Group. He is the owner of a major media conglomerate as well as journalism brands that provide entertainment to the southern regions of Brazil. He is also the Chairman and founder of e.Bricks, which is an investment company specializing in the Brazilian and United States digital market.

Eduardo earned his MBA at Harvard and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Before beginning his career working in the United States, Melzer worked in the family business at RBS Group that was founded by his grandfather, Maurício Sirotsky Sobrinho.

Beginning in 2012 and under the philosophical influence of Harvard business professor, John Davis, Eduardo believes that good governance is a distinguishing feature of any successful business, and particularly in a family based corporation, it becomes all the more relevant. 

This growth emphasis he believes in due in part to his adoption of a business movement called ‘cross board’, which leverages a dynamic exchange of information and knowledge. He has been recognized throughout the Brazilian and international business community and an innovator and forward thinker who has brought a new focus and growing Brazilian family businesses and corporations.

    His essential business characteristics are discipline and a strategic focus on business sustainability and growth, which will surely contribute to Brazil’s economic development.
