Contributions of Vincent Parascandola in the Success of AXA Advisors

AXA is a French Multinational insurance firm and currently one of the largest insurance companies in the world. The initial founders chose the name as they felt that anybody in the world would comfortably pronounce it. AXA Advisors traces its origin way back in 1816 when it was founded and was known as The Ancienne Mutuelle. It went on changing its name after buying firms over the years. It bought Drouot Group in 1982, The Equitable in 1991, UAP in 1996, Guardian Royal Exchange in 1999, Sun Life & Provincial Holdings in 2000, and Winterthur Group in 2006.

AXA is mainly concerned with the provision of services to individuals which include: investment accounts, equity investments, asset managed accounts, life insurance, annuities, health insurance and other risk management services. AXA has diversified its operations for better delivery of services. They include AXA UK, AXA Sunlife, AXA PPP healthcare, AXA Canada, and AXA Schengen. It also has operations in United States, Mexico, Asia, and Africa. AXA headquarters are located in Paris.

AXA is also known for its philanthropy. In 2008, AXA Research Fund was created. It mainly targets young researchers and those doing PhDs by funding their projects around the world. It also mentors young by training, and also by giving them a chance to share with the experienced researchers all over the world. To date, it has funded over 256 projects which have come from 22 countries.

AXA has experienced brains, and an example is Vincent Parascandola. Vincent is Senior Executive Vice President, and his major work is sales and management development. He is also responsible for recruiting professionals. Vincent pursued his Bachelor of Science in Pace University, New York. His career started in 1987 when he worked as an agent at Prudential. Vincent later held several posts such as Financial Professional in The MONY where he later became the sales manager and then the Managing Director. He worked as the Field Vice President from 1998 to 2005 and then became The Executive Vice President at AXA.

Vincent is recognized internationally for his leadership traits and has received several management awards. He is also a public speaker where he mentors the young as he shares his 25-years’ experience.

 

Dick DeVos is A Giver in His Professional And Personal Life

Philanthropy Roundtable recently had an interview with Betsy DeVos. The interview concerned education and the educational system. The interview covered several topics involving education. The interview questions were varied and approached several hot topic issues regarding education. During the interview, Betsy DeVos provided answers to the questions presented along with suggestions for making improvements in certain areas of the educational system

 

The interview was interesting and informative. Betsy DeVos demonstrated her level of expertise on the subject matter regarding education. She was able to offer answered that focused on the children, which she feels is the most important aspect of the educational system. Betsy DeVos pointed to specific areas of the educational system where children are impacted the most. She explained very well how the impact on children concerning education can affect the children for their entire lives.

 

Betsy DeVos has strong thoughts on the subject of education. Her passion is for helping children who are not able to help or defend themselves against the aspects of the educational system that need to be addressed.

 

Dick DeVos is the husband of Betsy DeVos. While many people know Dick DeVos through his work as an executive at Amway, the Orlando Magic, and The Windquest Group, Dick DeVos is also known for things outside his professional executive roles. He has lead an interesting and successful life.

 

Dick DeVos has served many years as an advocate of worthwhile causes through his own charitable organizations, charitable organizations of others, and just simply giving to people in need. Mr. DeVos has a long list of charitable contributions and things that he has assisted with to help others.

 

This list includes providing money for people to attend college, helping to establish a unique high school for children, helping to build a medical school, helping to build a heart hospital, and many other contributions that required of his time and money.

 

 Dick DeVos  gives of himself everyday as an executive. He provides leadership to an entire organization. However, he also gives in his personal life. He gives to his family, friends, community, charities, and people in need. Dick DeVos is a giver at heart. He understands that giving has many rewards for the giver. The way that Dick DeVos is perceived is often determined based on his professional accomplishments, which are many. However, the perception of Dick DeVos should also include his personal life where he has accomplished a great deal.

Philanthropic Work of the DeVos Family

Dick DeVos is the son of Richard DeVos who co-founded and operated Amway, one of the largest distributors of consumer goods. Hailing and residing from Western Michigan, Dick and his wife of 30 years, Betsy DeVos are not only known for their financial success but also for their philanthropic history. As members of the wealthy social class in Grand Rapids, it is customary to be expected to give back to the community through large donations. The DeVos family has certainly done their part. In a Forbes report, the DeVos family said they donated around $1.2 billion over their lifetime. This report came after Forbes reportedly kept requesting a response. According to an MLIVE article, the Dick DeVos and his wife Betsy were listed number 20 on Forbes’ top 50 giver list. A large majority of the funds donated stayed in their local area of Grand Rapids where they invest much time and energy to promote a better community in which they live. The fund donated were also given to church’s and other religiously affiliated institutions, educational endeavors as well as many Republican think tanks.

Hailing from Michigan, Dick DeVos attended and graduated from Northwood University. DeVos worked in many fields within his father’s company of Amway before eventually running the company as president in 1993 and continued to grow the company to 18 countries and increase profits substantially until 2002. Dick Devos has also had great success beyond his business ventures. In 1991, DeVos joined the Orlando Magic and he became CEO and President of the esteemed basketball team. DeVos is also an avid competitive sailor who has one two national titles. He also can fly planes and helicopters.

The DeVos, Dick and Betsy, have been together for 30 years and have since then had 4 children and 2 granddaughters. The family is involved in education and studies as well as business. The Dick and Betsy DeVos Family Foundation was established in 1989 with the simple mission of giving the family a funnel through which they can do their philanthropic work. It is through this foundation that the DeVos family has done a majority of their philanthropy. Dick and Betsy DeVos’ affiliation to the Republican Party date back to when Betsy DeVos was in college. Both Dick and Betsy DeVos spend much of their time and energy in their local community of Grand Rapids, Michigan where they are on committees and chairs to make sure that their home-town continues to prosper and have a promising future.
